According to a posting on the site, Ellefson wrote the band later to thank them for the jam. In his words, "I wanted to thank you for a great time last night at The Gig in Hollywood. You were most gracious to share your stage with me, Chris and Nick and I think you made the global MEGADETH community bond together once again with our reuniting last night. I gotta say, we all sounded pretty damn good! Anyway, thanks for your passion of all things MEGADETH. You guys rock and certainly make us proud!"
Described as "the premier tribute to the renowned speed metal titans MEGADETH," HANGAR 18 cover material from MEGADETH's early days until the band's peak during the "Countdown to Extinction" era. The current set encompasses hits of MEGADETH as well as the fan favorites. As stated at every show, HANGAR 18 "pay tribute to the drug-induced MEGADETH because that is the very best music ever created by the band."
